Meet your teacher

Teaching-
I am pleased to have your child in my Language Arts or Drama classroom this year!  My name is Renee and this year marks my 11th year of teaching. I began my teaching career at Morgan Park High School on Chicago's south side- a job that I loved and that taught me the value of students and of where education can take them.   I moved back to Ohio to be closer to my beloved family and started teaching at Cuyahoga Falls High School in the fall of 2005.
Here at CFHS I teach four freshmen Language Arts classes and two Drama classes.  I also direct the Fall Play and run the Improvisational Theatre club.

Education-
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Kent State University and my Masters in English Education from National-Louis University in Chicago.  I worked in professional theatre for many years before finding my home in education.  I believe that my years in the arts gives me an edge in the classroom as our students become more and more in need of stimulation and the occasional song and dance routine to keep them excited about their own educations!

I think that technology is the future of our classrooms and I think that along with my singing and dancing, I will best reach my students by staying current on the latest advancements.  I hope that this blog will help us all stay more connected as the year moves forward.

My 2 boys = the reason I
don't spend EVERY waking
moment at the school. :)

completing the Warrior Dash

Just me- In the teeny-tiny amount of spare time I have to myself, I love going on adventures with my husband (a science teacher) and my two sons (ages 2 and 5).  To keep my sanity, in the classroom and out, I took up running, yoga, gardening, and many a deep breathing exercise.
